- Medsphere gambles investment dollars on the idea that VistA can be used in private hospitals.
- WorldVistA wins the 2007 Wired Rave award.
- WorldVistA achieves CCHIT certification for the WorldVistA EHR, the first Open Source application to do so.
- DSS vxVistA, a proprietary fork of FOIA VistA wins CCHIT certification
- Phillip Longman writes "the Best Care Anywhere" attributing much of the VA hospitals success to VistA
- The VA wins the Innovations in American Government Award from Harvard for VistA.
The question I would like to ask is "how did this happen?". Lets get the story straight. Federal employees developed what appears to be the EHR at the backbone of the highest quality medical system in the United States. That makes no sense.
